ETHNO JAZZ BESKIDY - details!

ETHNO JAZZ BESKIDY is a festival that combines a mountain hike with participation in premiere concerts of music created at the intersection of the traditions of Beskid highlanders, ethnic sounds of the world and jazz.

The Art Theater Association, known for the organization of Bielska Zadymka Jazzowej, decided to use its experience in organizing festivals at the highest, world level in the implementation of new projects. Jerzy Batycki - the founder and director of Zadymka, and Piotr Damasiewicz - a jazz musician in love with the Beskid folklore, jointly developed a project that was supported by the Visegrad Funds. Ethno, jazz and Beskidy are the three elements on which the offer was built, which connects musicians and active seekers of artistic impressions. It will also be an opportunity to meet the culture, tradition and regional products of the Beskid highlanders. - We decided to invite musicians to small towns in the Beskids. We will create favorable conditions for them to work on new, joint programs. Finally, we will come along with a group of travelers to participate in their premiere concerts. Highlanders, traditional musicians from Africa and South America, as well as jazzmen from Poland and the Czech Republic will work on new, premiere projects in three Beskid towns, in the area of the of the borders of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. What will come of this? Everything will turn out during the concerts that are the finals of each day of the festival. September 16 in Rajcza, 17 in Jablunkov and 18 in Oravska Polhora. - this is what Jerzy Batycki says about the new project. - This festival is meant to unite! This connection is to take place on various levels: interpersonal, cultural and musical. It is addressed to musicians looking for and active lovers of cultural events. It is an invitation to wander the Beskid trails, meet the tradition and culture of this region. It is also a laboratory where new music is to be created. - adds Piotr Damasiewicz, the Music Guide of the festival. - I will lead a group of festival participants on the Beskid routes of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It will be an opportunity to present historical, geographic and ethnological information about the Beskids. The routes will not be difficult, but I guarantee interesting trips. - adds Mirek Ostrowski, Beskids Guide.
